Dr. Susan Kaufman, DO, FACOG, attended the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating in 1981. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Kaufman is board certified by ABOG and is a Fellow of ACOG. Following completion of her residency, Dr. Kaufman served four years in the United States Public Health Service as part of the Indian Health Service Corp. During two years of her stay, she served as Chief of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 1990, Dr. Kaufman returned to New Jersey where she worked as an attending physician at Osborn Health Services and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.

In 1991, Dr. Kaufman joined the Faculty Practice of the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Cooper University Hospital, Camden New Jersey. During her 12 years in this position, Dr. Kaufman held several administrative positions, served on many hospital and educational committees, developed resident and medical student educational materials, maintained a clinical practice, started the Cooper Center for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology, and taught residents and medical students.

Beginning in 2002, Dr. Kaufman opened her private practice, the Center for Specialized Gynecology, for adult, adolescent, and pediatric gynecology. She continues to teach medical students and residents, and lectures extensively on a variety of topics in pediatric and adolescent gynecology. She has been named as a Top Doc in New Jersey for adolescents and women in the specialty of gynecology for many years.

Dr. Kaufman is now the Past President of the Obstetrical Society of Philadelphia, a tri-state society in existence since 1867. She holds a faculty position, Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Thomas Jefferson Medical School.
